Potential storms forecasted for next week

Potential storms forecasted for next week spot-user Fri, 09/25/2020 - 16:02

As you head off for school holidays, it is important to make sure your home is prepared for potential storms forecasted by BoM for next week.

If you are not prepared for storm or flood, your risk to property damage increases.

In the worst storms, ESA unfortunately cannot attend to every request for assistance immediately.

Complete these steps this weekend, to better protect your home.

Help us help you, by being prepared.

Potential thunderstorms for the ACT

Potential thunderstorms for the ACT spot-user Mon, 09/21/2020 - 15:07

There is a potential for thunderstorms for the ACT this afternoon. Storms will likely bring strong winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to localised flash flooding.

The ACT State Emergency Service (ACTSES) encourages the community to:

  1. secure or remove loose items that could blow around in strong winds
  2. move your car undercover as well as avoid parking under trees

For information and tips on how you can Be Storm Ready, visit https://esa.act.gov.au/cbr-be-emergency-ready/storms

If you need assistance during a storm, call the ACTSES on 132 500. For life-threatening emergencies always call Triple Zero (000).
